Manufacturing & Assembly Engineer

We’re currently seeking a Manufacturing & Assembly Engineer to join our team, focused on assembling, testing, and validating new construction systems and prototypes in our laboratory environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on engineering work, can quickly understand construction technologies, and is motivated by turning concepts into tested, practical solutions.

• Assembling full-scale and small-scale construction prototypes based on predefined experimental designs;
• Conducting laboratory and workshop testing of building systems, components, and manufacturing processes;
• Operating tools, equipment, and machinery required for prototype fabrication and assembly;
• Recording experimental observations, measurements, and test results in a structured manner;
• Supporting the preparation of test setups and ensuring experiments are executed according to defined procedures;
• Collaborating with design, manufacturing, and research teams to provide feedback from prototype testing;
• Identifying assembly challenges and proposing practical improvements to construction methods and product designs;
• Maintaining a safe, organised, and efficient laboratory environment;
• Supporting physical assembly, handling, transportation, and installation of prototype components;
• Contributing to the continuous development of construction and manufacturing workflows.

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Building Physics, Construction Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Architecture, or a related technical discipline;
• Practical hands-on engineering, manufacturing, construction, or technical assembly experience;
• Ability to work confidently with hand tools, power tools, and workshop equipment;
• Strong interest in construction technologies, prefabrication, and building systems;
• Ability to accurately document work, measurements, and test results;
• Problem-solving mindset with a willingness to learn new methods and technologies;
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and assembly documentation;
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail;
• Comfortable working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team;
• Construction site, fabrication workshop, laboratory, or prototyping experience is considered an advantage.
