Structural Design Engineer (Part-Time)

Apply

All3 is transforming how buildings are conceived, developed, and delivered. We combine AI-powered design with robotic prefabrication and on-site assembly to build custom architecture at the cost and speed of mass production — unlocking even the most complex sites.

We’re currently seeking a Structural Engineer (Part-Time) to join our team, focused on developing clear, reliable calculation logic for mass timber and hybrid structural systems, supporting the integration of engineering knowledge into scalable digital tools.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and documenting calculation methodologies and algorithms for structural elements and connections in mass timber and hybrid construction;
  • Defining calculation logic for composite beams, including systems such as Deltabeam- and Hybridbeam-type solutions;
  • Designing and verifying beam-to-GLT column and beam-to-CLT wall connections;
  • Integrating balcony systems into composite beam designs;
  • Selecting and calculating connectors for load-bearing CLT wall systems;
  • Developing structural calculation logic for CLT and timber–concrete composite slabs;
  • Collaborating with software, product, and design teams to translate engineering principles into implementable rulesets.

Requirements

  • Strong background in structural engineering with a focus on timber and hybrid structures;
  • Confident rapidly interpreting unfamiliar Eurocodes/National Annexes and converting to robust algorithms which can be implemented in software;
  • Solid understanding of structural connections and connector design;
  • Ability to formalise engineering judgement into clear, reproducible calculation methodologies;
  • Comfortable working independently in a flexible, startup environment;
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), ability to write formal implementation strategies;
  • Ability to quickly master new pieces of software;
  • PhD or Masters in Structural engineering

Would be a plus:

  • Hands-on experience with mass timber systems, including CLT, GLT, and composite (steel/concrete) solutions;
  • Familiarity with software development/programming skills;
  • Familiarity with structural analysis software (e.g. RFEM and specialised connection design software (IdeaStatica).

Conditions

  • Part-time, flexible engagement tailored to your availability;
  • Opportunity to shape core structural logic in a fast-growing construction technology company;
  • A collaborative startup environment focused on real-world impact;
  • Freedom to work remotely with a high level of autonomy;
  • Meaningful involvement in redefining how complex buildings are engineered and delivered.
